Tax Alert: FIRS Introduces Self-Service Stations

The Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) has issued a press release to notify taxpayers of the new self-service stations at the various tax offices and advised taxpayers to utilise the stations in fulfilling their tax obligations.

Highlights of the Public Notice

According to the press release, the taxpaying public is notified of the introduction of self-service stations at all FIRS tax offices nationwide to support taxpayers in utilising the TaxPro Max solutions.

Further, the FIRS noted that introducing the self-service stations is part of its efforts to enhance voluntary tax compliance. In addition, a designated FIRS officials will be readily available to assist taxpayers with any technical difficulty or concerns that may arise. The self-service stations will provide taxpayers with the opportunity to carry out the following online services:

  • File tax returns
  • Make tax payments
  • Apply for and validate Tax Clearance Certificates (TCCs)
  • Generate receipts and credit notes
